A long long time ago on the shore of the Arabian Gulf, there was a beautiful pearl diving village Qaryat Al Jewana.
The divers who lived there had discovered a giant pearl lying on the sea bed that was so large, it took all the villagers to bring it into town.
It's size rivaled the tallest buildings in town. It was the mother of all pearls, and it brought prosperity to the village.
One day, a fierce shamal blew in from the sea. It battered the village for three days and nights. On the fourth day, the villagers realised that the Mother Pearl has vanished.
